Canadian Critical Incident Inc. (CCII) has created a two-day Crisis Negotiation Techniques for First Responders Course based on the curriculum of the five-day CCII Crisis Negotiators Course. This two-day course will provide a general understanding of the role, responsibilities and skills of a Crisis Negotiator for the First Responders.
Attendees will be trained in the concepts and philosophy of crisis negotiations, subject/suspect assessment, mental illnesses and how to manage people in crisis through de-escalation strategies. The training will develop the attendee’s ability to recognize high risk situations, use defusing techniques, enhance active listening, call on effective communication skills and apply crisis negotiation techniques and strategies.
First Responders will benefit from the skills crisis negotiators use in crisis intervention, de-escalation and crisis communication. The course will focus on instruction for attendees who will respond to incidents involving individuals experiencing mental illness, in a state of crisis or suicidal.
This two-day course includes training material, certificate and instructed by a former Detective with 20 years experience as a Crisis Negotiator and 8 years as a Tactical Officer. To register open the below link.
