CCII has partnered with the Winkler, Altona and Morden Manitoba Police Services to deliver Major Incident Response training for Frontline Supervisors. This course will provide front-line supervisors with training to assume initial command of critical incidents and prepare them to understand a wide range of critical incident strategies including the use of supports like Tactical Units and Crisis Negotiators. The course will review the responsibilities and limitations of the Incident Command Triangle, the concepts and philosophy of crisis negotiations; which includes subject/suspect assessment, mental illnesses, and dealing with emotionally disturbed persons. The training will also include initial response to major emergencies, public order events and preliminary reaction to high-level search events. This training will allow supervisors to gain an understanding of the requirements and responsibilities of the Command Triangle in order to understand their own critical roles and responsibilities and become part of the communal team effort and effective resolution of critical incidents. CCII is also partnering with the Regional Support Tactical Team (RSTT) in the course instruction to ensure that attendees receive training within their own policy and tactical response capacities.
Monique Rollin, Inspector (ret.), CCII’s Vice President and Director of Training, will be the Lead Instructor.
