November 30 8:00 AM - December 3 4:00 PM, 2021

Hosted by Thunder Bay Police Service, this four day Incident Command Scribe Course designed for operational scribes, both sworn and civilian, to support police leaders who are required to assume command of police operations in major incidents. The course will focus on instruction for members assigned to an operational support role in record keeping for the Incident Commander. An IC scribe requires necessary knowledge and judgement essential to assist the Incident Commander and record the information during major incidents like a search for vulnerable missing people, public order events, high risk events like barricaded individuals and major events like disasters (IMS) that require an IC.

This course will also allow the IC Scribe to gain an understanding of the requirements and responsibilities of the Command Triangle, Critical Incident Commander, Crisis Negotiating Team, Tactical Team, Command Post, and Scene Manager in order to understand their own critical roles and responsibilities and become part of the communal team effort and effective resolution of critical incidents.
